About the artist: Oleksandr Volodymyrovych Zhmailo was born in 1954 in Samarkand, Uzbekistan. Education: School of Arts (Department of Design) Syktyvkar, Russia, 1980. Pedagogical Institute (Faculty of Art and Graphics) Khabarovsk, Russia, 1987 Member of the Union of Artists since 1988 (USSR); since 1997 (Ukraine); since 2003 (Russia). Laureate of the Prize of the Komsomol of Uzbekistan, 1988 Laureate of the International Competitions of Satirical Art in Japan, Tokyo 1987, in Italy, Ancona 1987, 1989, 1991, 1993, Foligno (1990), Marostyka 2002 (10 awards and prizes).
