About the artist: Sosenko Valery Kuprianovich was born on January 11, 1939 in the city of Romny, Sumy region in the family of artist Kupriyan Zosenko. His first teachers were parents. My mother, Maria Nikolaevna, painted beautifully, and her father, Kupriyan Fedorovich, wrote landscapes, portraits, still lifes. Separate paintings by KF Zossenko are in the Romny Regional Museum. When the Great Patriotic War began, Valery's father went to the front. Valery and his mother were hiding in the farm of Haidukov, where they went for food. Few kilometers on foot passed and small Valery. After the war, his father taught fine arts in the Romanian schools. Valery grew in the midst of highly intellectual people - this became the cornerstone of his personality. The family read scientific journals, discussed the problems of art and urban news, painted. Here were the first recognition of the artistic abilities of the future artist. The motifs of his first regular sketches became landscapes. In 1955, Valery Kuprianovich graduated from Romny School No. 2. He studied at the Kursk Art College, which graduated in 1960. Studying at the Kursk Art School, Valery Sosenko mastered not only the technique of painting, but also the art of living.
