About the artist: (1895 - 1970) - artist, founder of the Kiev Restoration - Art School.
He was born in the village of Matviyivka, Poltava region. In 1919 he graduated from the Kyiv Art School; since 1937 participant of exhibitions.
He took part in the restoration of paintings by famous masters (Polenov, Vasnetsov, Shishkin, etc.); in 1946 restored Aivazovsky's painting "Pushkin by the Sea", which was badly damaged during the war.
He also took part in the restoration of St. Andrew's Church in Kyiv.
