Painter, graphic artist, artist of decorative and applied arts
Studied at the Kiev Art School (graduated in 1918) and the Kiev State Art Institute (1919-1925) under V. G. and F. G. Krichevsky.
He lived in Kiev. He performed drawings for decorative fabrics, woven panels and tapestries ("Kakhovka", "Dneproges"), furniture projects, sketches for the design of public buildings (1928-1933, 1955-1958). Illustrated books for the Kiev publishing house "Culture": the collection "Miracles without miracles", "Chickens are sleeping" by V. Shervinsky, "No prey, no use" by S. Z. Fedorchenko (all - 1929) and others.
He painted thematic paintings, landscapes, portraits, still lifes. Author of the paintings "Border Guard" (1937), "Crossing" (1943), "Vyborg Fortress" (1945), "T. G. Shevchenko among children in Ukraine "(1946)," Kiev CHP "(1946-1947)," Kolkhoz floriculture "(1949)," Winter. Frost "(1951)," Wave "(1957)," Dnieper near Kanev "(1958)," Surf "(1964)," Blooming apple tree "(1971); series "Boryspil oil fields" (1947) and others. During the war he was at the front; created a series of graphic portraits of war participants (sanguine, coal).
Since 1924 - participant of exhibitions (professional exhibition of the section of Fine Arts of Vserabis in Kiev). Member and exhibitor of the Association of Artists of Chervona Ukraine (1927-1931). Participant of the All-Ukrainian jubilee exhibition dedicated to the 10th anniversary of the October Revolution (1927; traveling around the cities of Ukraine), the 3rd All-Ukrainian art exhibition of the People's Commissariat of Education of the Ukrainian SSR (1930; traveling around the cities of Ukraine), the Republican Shevchenko exhibition (1941), exhibitions of works of artists - participants of the Patriotic War (1946), Ukrainian art exhibitions (1948, 1950), exhibitions of fine arts of the Ukrainian SSR (1951), an anniversary art exhibition of the Ukrainian SSR (1957), an art exhibition dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the death of T.G. Shevchenko (1961) in Kiev, 1st exhibition of works by front-line artists (1943), 3rd exhibition of artists of the Leningrad Front (1945) in Leningrad and others. Held personal exhibitions in Vyborg (1945), Kiev (1955/1956).
He taught at the Art College (1925–1931) and the Photo Cinema College (1930–1932) in Kiev.
The artist's memorial exhibition was held in Kiev (1973).
Creativity is presented in a number of museum collections, in particular in the National Museum of the History of Ukraine in Kiev, the Kiev State Museum. T. G. Shevchenko in Kiev, Kanev Museum-Reserve T. G. Shevchenko, Chernigov Literary Memorial Museum M. M. Kotsyubinsky.
