About the artist: Painter. In 1932 he entered the art school in Tashkent, studied with A. Volkov and M. Kurzin. From 1937 to 1946 studied at the Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture. I.E. Repin All-Russian Academy of Arts at A.A. Osmerkin. His thesis “Minin and Pozharsky” is kept at the Museum of the Academy of Arts in St. Petersburg. Member of the Union of Artists. In 1953 he was nominated for the Stalin Prize for the painting "At the Straight Wire". In 1957 he went on a large creative business trip to Kazakhstan. Participant of numerous all-Union, All-Russian, republican and zonal exhibitions. The artist's works are in many cities of the former Soviet Union, in many countries in private collections. A. Gulyaev's works were sold at auctions: Sotheby's, Arcole (Paris), Blache (Grenoble), Phillips (London).
