About the artist: Ukrainian artist, painter and graphic artist. Honored Artist of Ukraine.
Elena Nilovna Yablonskaya was born on August 28, 1918 in Smolensk in the family of the artist, graphic artist and teacher of literature Nil Alexandrovich and Vera Georgievna Yablonsky.
Sister of the outstanding Ukrainian artist Tatyana Yablonskaya and architect Dmitry Yablonsky.
In 1934 he entered the Kiev Art College and completed a three-year program in one year.
Since 1935 - a student at the Kiev State Art Institute, where she studies with K. Eleva, A. Shovkunenko, P. Kotov.
In 1939, Elena Yablonskaya married an outstanding Ukrainian artist E.V. Volobuev.
In 1941 he graduated from the institute and with the beginning of the Great Patriotic War left for the evacuation to the Saratov region.
Until 1943, Elena Nilovna had to postpone her creative plans and work as an accountant.
In 1945 she was awarded the Medal "For Valiant Labor in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945."
Member of the Union of Artists of the USSR since 1944.
Since 1945 Yablonskaya E.N. participates in republican, and since 1946 - in all-Union art exhibitions.
She lived and worked in Kiev. Master of easel painting and book graphics.
For twenty years Elena Nilovna illustrated books. Several generations of children have grown up at her works. Yablonskaya's drawings are originally arranged, very clear to children.
From 1945 to 1975, the artist was also involved in teaching. At the art school, she taught mainly graphic artists and sculptors. Her unusual approach to drawing was based on the lessons she learned from her father.
In 1977 he was awarded the title - "Honored Artist of Ukraine".
In 2008, the National Art Museum of Ukraine hosted an exhibition of E.N. Yablonskaya, timed to coincide with the 90th anniversary of her birth.
The artist died on March 25, 2009 in Kiev, and was buried at the Baikovo cemetery.
The works of E.N. Yablonskaya are represented in the National Art Museum of Ukraine, in museum, gallery and private collections in Ukraine, Germany, England, USA and other countries.
