About the artist: Honored Artist of the USSR. Honored Artist of the Russian Federation.
He studied at the Ivanovo Art College (1940-1946) with M. Pyrin, A. Kuznetsov, L. Sherwood. In 1948 he graduated from the Simferopol Art College. N. Samokish. From 1949 to 1954 taught at this school, studying in absentia in LIZSA them. I.E. Repin. The paintings Almond Blossom and Artek Bay, exhibited at the 1955 All-Union Art Exhibition, were donated to Indian Prime Minister J. Nehru and his daughter Indira Gandhi. In the years 1955-1958. headed the Crimean regional branch of artists of the Ukrainian SSR, since 1989 - the head of the military commission of the Moscow Union of Artists. Personal exhibitions of the artist were held in Kiev, Sevastopol, Simferopol, Moscow. In 2002-2005 Solo exhibitions of Prokhorov were held in the Lower and Upper Chambers of the Russian Parliament in Moscow, in the Council of Federations of the Russian Federation. Works by K.A. Prokhorov purchased by the ministries of culture of Ukraine and Russia, are in several museums in Ukraine and Russia, as well as in private collections in Russia, the UK, Japan, France, Poland, the Czech Republic, Nigeria, were repeatedly sold at European painting auctions.
