About This Painting
"Balaclava" measures 135x185 cm and is executed in oil on canvas. It depicts two women in a sunlit interior, dressed elegantly and gazing out toward a serene seascape, embodying tranquility and introspective calm. The stark contrast is introduced by a figure in a balaclava sitting aside, adding an element of mystery and underlying tension to the otherwise peaceful setting.
The floating balloon-like molecular structures around the room add a whimsical, dreamlike quality, symbolizing the volatile nature of thoughts and emotions. This surreal element contrasts sharply with the realistic depiction of the figures, enhancing the narrative of visible and hidden layers within human experiences.
