About the artist: Soviet Ukrainian painter. Honored Artist of Ukraine. Member of the Union of Artists of the Ukrainian SSR. Born on April 18, 1941 in Nikopol, Dnepropetrovsk region. During his school years he attended the fine arts studio of the Palace of Pioneers in Nikopol, where his first drawing teacher was the artist T.M. Tsvigun. Then he entered the Dnepropetrovsk Art School, where the artists KS Berkut and the People's Artist of Ukraine GG Chernyavsky were professional teachers. From 1966 to 1972 he studied at the Kiev State Art Academy at the faculty of painting. In 1985 S. Fomenk was awarded the title of Honored Artist of Ukraine for his active creative work. Since 1996 he has lived and worked in Munich, Germany. Since 1997 he is a member of the German Professional Artists' Union (BBK). His paintings are in Ukrainian museums, private collections, both in Ukraine and in many foreign countries: Germany, England, France, Italy, Spain, Canada, Japan, USA and other countries.
