About the artist: Patik Volodymyr Yosypovych (1926-2016) - Ukrainian painter, landscape painter, master of still life. He was born in the village of Black Island, Lviv region. He studied at the Art and Industrial School in Lviv (1941-1944) with M. Fedyuk, M. Osinchuk, and O. Lishchynsky. He graduated from the Lviv Institute of Decorative and Applied Arts (1953), where he studied with R. Selsky, R. Silvestrov, and J. Bokshay. He took part in republican (since 1956), all-union (since 1968) and personal exhibitions. Member of the Union of Artists of Ukraine (since 1958). Honored Artist of Ukraine (since 1996). Laureate of the National Prize. T. Shevchenko (1999) for a series of works "Land of Shevchenko". People's Artist of Ukraine (since 2006). One of the most prominent figures in Ukrainian painting of the second half of the twentieth century, a bright representative of the Galician school of painting.
