About the artist: Ukrainian painter. People's Artist of Ukraine.
Arkady Vasilyevich Soroka was born on July 25, 1921 in the city of Vinnitsa.
From 1937 to 1941 he studied at the Odessa Art College. His teachers in the specialty were: D. Krainev, L. Muchnik, N. Shelyuto.
Member of the Great Patriotic War. Marked with military awards.
From 1945 to 1946 he worked in Moscow at the USSR Commissariat of Communications.
After demobilization, he lived in Vinnitsa and worked at the Art Fund, taught at art studios.
Since 1951, Soroka A.V. - A participant in regional, since 1964 - republican, since 1967 - All-Union and foreign art exhibitions.
Member of the Union of Artists of the Ukrainian SSR since 1967.
He worked in the field of easel painting. Master of genre painting, still life, portrait and landscape.
In 1980 he was awarded the title "Honored Artist of Ukraine".
Since 2009 - "People's Artist of Ukraine".
The works of A.V. Soroki are presented in the museums of Vinnitsa, Donetsk, Ivano-Frankivsk, Ternopol, Lugansk, Chernigov, Khmelnytsky, Yampol, in gallery and private collections in Ukraine, Russia, the UK, France, Poland, Germany, Belgium, Greece, Spain and in other countries.
