About the artist: V. Ya. Shcherban was born in 1919 in Ukraine. During the Great Patriotic War he fought on the Stalingrad front, was the commander of the branch. Sergeant. He was awarded orders and medals. Since 1964 he has been a member of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union. In 1970 he became a member of the Union of Artists of the USSR. Member of the party bureau of the painting section of the Moscow Organization of the Union of Artists of the RSFSR. He was awarded diplomas and prizes of the Union of Artists of the USSR, the Moscow Organization of the Union of Artists of the RSFSR, the Moscow City Organization of the Art Fund of the RSFSR.
