About the artist: Soviet Ukrainian painter. Member of the Union of Artists of the Ukrainian SSR. Born on August 13, 1912 in the city of Tulchin (Vinnytsia region). He graduated from the Kiev Art Institute (1932–1941 and 1945–1946). He studied under P. Volokidin, S. Grigoriev and A. Shovkunenko. In 1946, the painting "Sholem Aleichem" was written, the thesis. He worked in the industry of easel painting. He took part in republican and all-Union exhibitions since 1947. He lived and worked in Kiev. The artist’s memorial exhibition was held in Kiev in 1985. He gained fame as a master of still life, he also painted thematic paintings, landscapes and portraits. Major works: “Sholem Aleichem” (1947); “The funeral of the Hero of Socialist Labor Anna Denisovna Kosheva” (1950), “Song of the Motherland”; First Graders (1954); "Still Life with Fruits", "Lilac", "Pineapples and Apples" (1957), Seashore "(1961)"; Breakfast. 1918 ”(1968),“ In the dugout ”,“ Spark ”,“ In the days of war ”,“ Memory of the soldier ”,“ Miner's still life ”and others. The artist’s works are widely represented in many public and private collections in Ukraine and abroad and are in constant demand among collectors.
