About the artist: Born on August 05 (18?), 1911, in Kiev. Son of I. Buryachka. Studied at the Kiev Art Institute (1940), at the Academy of Arts in Latvia (1945-50). Teachers in the specialty: L. Svemp and V. Skulme. Architect, painter, restorer, art critic. He used subjects of folk arts and crafts, expanding the boundaries of the genre, as well as landscape works, in which he synthesized the traditions of Russian painting. His work is characterized by laconicism. He worked as an artist in the House of Culture at the Bolshevik plant (1933-1935). As a decorator, he took part in the design of the performances of the Kiev Opera, the Kiev Theater of Musical Comedy and the Youth Theater. Major works - "Self-portrait", "Courtyard of St. Sophia of Kiev" (1957), "Summer", "View of the Hem" (1958), "Dahlias" (1959), "Sea Waves" (1960), "Flowers on the Window", "House in Sednev" (1962), "Winter Landscape in the Crimea" (1963). Participated in the painting of ceiling lamps in the Palace of Culture of the Koksokhimsky Combine in the city of Horlivka, Donetsk region (1951), in the development of the project of the Triumphal Arch of the reunification of Russia and Ukraine in Kiev, completed a panel (sketch and its embodiment) in the House of Culture in Novaya Kakhovka, Kherson region (1956) ... Participated in the restoration of frescoes in St. Sophia Cathedral and the restoration of the Bakhchisarai Palace in the Crimea (1957-1963). He created a number of mosaic panels in various cities of Ukraine: school number 22 in the city of Kremenchug, Poltava region (1965); front wall of the restaurant of the airport "Zhulyany" in Kiev (1970). Lived and worked in Kiev, died on January 13, 1977.
