About the artist: He studied at the Zhytomyr Gymnasium, received his art education in 1876-1880 at the Kyiv Drawing School of M. Murashka. From 1884 he studied at the St. Petersburg Academy of Arts, later at the Munich Academy of Arts. He lived in Kyiv, in 1885-1888 he participated in exhibitions of itinerants and the Society of South Russian Artists.

Art. Author of landscapes: "House", "Field", "Dnipro", "Ukrainian house", "Poppies", "At sunset", "House illuminated by the sun".

The Polish critic Henryk Piontkowski wrote: "E. Vzhesch is primarily an artist of Ukraine. He knows her and loves her."[1]
