Nikolay Vladimirovich Chernikov was born on October 22, 1953 in Kiev in the family of painters Vladimir Chernikov and Vera Sogoyan.
In 1972 he graduated from the Republican Art High School named after T.G. Shevchenko.
From 1972 to 1978 he studied at the Kiev State Art Institute.
Member of the Union of Artists of Ukraine ..
He worked in the field of easel painting. The works are dominated by paintings of philosophical content and landscapes.
N.V. Chernikov took part in city, republican and international art exhibitions.
In 1991, a personal exhibition "Kokhaniy svit" took place in the exhibition hall of the National Library named after V.I. Vernadsky.
The artist died on October 20, 1996 in Kiev.
Nikolai Chernikov's works are presented in the art museums of Kherson and Mariupol, in private collections in Ukraine, Russia, France, Germany, Greece, Japan, England, and the USA.
