About the artist: Arseny Semyonov was born (10) on January 23, 1911 in the village of Maksimovo, Polotsk district, Vitebsk province, into the family of a master builder of railway bridges. Father died when Arseny was four years old. The future artist spent his childhood in the Belarusian town of Bykhov. Since 1926, in Leningrad, he studied at the AHRR studio under A.R. Eberling. From 1944 to 1947 taught at the Moscow Art Institute. Since 1946, a member of the Union of Artists of the USSR. Since 1947, a member of the Leningrad Union of Artists. Since 1939 he has been a constant participant in art exhibitions. Since 1947 he taught at the School named after. V. Mukhina. In 1951 he graduated from the Institute. I.E. Repin, where he studied with A.A. Osmerkin and D.N. Kardovsky. Personal exhibition took place in 1966 in Leningrad. The artist's works are in many museums of St. Petersburg, regional museums, as well as in private collections in Russia and abroad.
