About the artist: Born on July 1 (13), 1869 in the village of Bolshiye Soli, Kostroma province (now the urban-type settlement Nekrasovskoe, Yaroslavl region).
In 1880-1889 he graduated from the Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture, classes of E. S. Sorokin, V. E. Makovsky, V. D. Polenov, I. M. Pryanishnikov. In 1888 he received the title of class artist. In 1889 he studied at the Academy of Arts under B. P. Villevalde and K. B. Venig, became a member of the Association of Traveling Art Exhibitions.
In the late 1880s - early 1890s, he served as a teacher at the School of Fine Arts of the artist-architect A.O. Gunst. In 1898-1913 he taught at the Stroganov School.
Vinogradov's work is characteristic of the main nucleus of the Union of Russian Artists, of which he was one of the founders (1903).
In 1912 he became an academician of the Academy of Arts. Since 1916, he has been a full member of the Academy of Arts.
After 1923 he lived in Latvia, taught. He died on February 5, 1938 in Riga. He was buried at the Pokrovskoye cemetery.
