The painting titled "Disappearing Thoughts", created with oil on canvas, explores the ephemeral and intangible nature of human thoughts and emotions. The composition is abstract yet evocative, with its interplay of bold colors and organic shapes forming a visual metaphor for the fleeting nature of mental processes. At the center of the artwork is a subtle silhouette of a human profile, rendered in earthy brown tones. The profile appears to emerge from, or perhaps dissolve into, the surrounding vibrant pink and deep green forms. This central figure is not sharply defined, symbolizing the transient and fluid nature of thoughts and memories as they come and go, often without clear boundaries or permanence. The dominant pink hues evoke a sense of warmth and vulnerability, while the contrasting dark green adds depth and introspection to the piece. The interplay between these two colors creates a sense of tension and balance, representing the duality of clarity and chaos within the human mind. The use of white lines and spaces between the shapes further emphasizes the fragmentation and disconnection that often characterize fleeting thoughts. The brushstrokes are expressive and textured, giving the painting a dynamic and almost tactile quality. The layering of colors and the subtle blending of shades suggest movement and change, reinforcing the theme of thoughts dissipating or transforming over time.Through "Disappearing Thoughts," the artist conveys a profound exploration of the subconscious mind. The painting invites viewers to reflect on their own internal landscapes—the moments of clarity, the fading of memories, and the elusive nature of ideas. It captures the beauty and fragility of human cognition, reminding us that while thoughts may vanish, the emotions and impressions they leave behind are often enduring. This artwork serves as both a meditation on the impermanence of mental experiences and a celebration of the creativity that arises from the mind’s fluidity.

About the artists: Oleksiyander Gukalov
After graduating from Lviv Polytechnic, he was engaged in scientific work. In his free time, he studied the works of Plato, the poetry of the ancient East, and religious works. At this time, resistance to the routine of life and utilitarian science arose in him; he became interested in man and his secrets. Oleksiyander decided to end his engineering career and become a humanitarian. Since 1990, he began to write and publish philosophical poems. Later he decided to devote himself to painting, a passion for which began during his years of study at the Lviv Polytechnic with caricatures and caricatures of classmates and teachers.
Since 2017 he has been painting with oil paints. Oleksiyander does not have a formal art education, but he is convinced that the craft and talent of an artist do not directly depend on professional education. The artist's works are characterized by completeness of composition and depth of meaning. He is not afraid to work with different themes, his paintings are true modern art that touches people. The artist’s portfolio includes landscapes and views of his favorite cities, portraits of pop stars, politicians, athletes, relatives, and animals. “I draw a toga when I feel the need for it. Therefore, I cannot say that I work in some narrow direction. Rather, it is a call from the soul,” the artist says about himself.
