About the artists: Soviet Ukrainian painter. Member of the National Union of Artists. Alexander Ivanovich Yalovenko was born on September 28, 1941 in the village of Zatsivka, Chernihiv region. Landscape painter, portrait painter, member of the Union of Artists of Ukraine. Born into a large family of teacher Ivan Antonovich Yalovenko and Cossack woman Sofia Petrovna (Zhovtoripenko). Alexander is the 4th son, in total there were 9 children in the Yalovenko family. He was attracted to drawing by his elder brother Vladimir, whose works were taken to exhibitions in Kiev since his school years. As Alexander Ivanovich recalls: The family lived in poverty, my brother and I did not have enough pencils. The images were painted with a fingernail. I went to school in the neighboring village of Detachment, finished the seven-year school, then in the village. Ivanishchi received a complete secondary education. He graduated from the Kharkov school of graphic designers, later studied at the art studio of Boris Danchenko in Sumy (the first folk art studio in Ukraine). After school he went to Astrakhan, where he worked in a fish farm as a handyman, a sailor. From 1960 to 1964 he served in the USSR Navy. After the army he worked as a mechanic in the city of Sevastopol. His cousin moved to Sumy, where he worked at the plant. Frunze, then to "Tsentrolit" as an artist-designer. Has behind his back 8 republican exhibitions. He joined the National Union of Artists in 2012. Although, as Alexander Ivanovich himself says: “I don’t want to join the union as before. I realized that this is not the main thing, but the main thing is just to work. " Participant of all-Ukrainian republican exhibitions. Permanent participant of the "Picturesque Ukraine" exhibition. Lives and works in Sumy.
