Mikhail Konstantinovich Poplavsky was born on May 26, 1914 in the village of Klyuchevskaya in the Krasnodar Territory of Russia.
Member of the Great Patriotic War. Marked with military awards.
In 1948 he graduated from the painting department of the Leningrad Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture named after I.E. Repin, where he studied under Yu. Neprintsev, B. Johnson, V. Belkin, I. Stepashkin, Yu. Cheptsov, M. Bernshtein, A. Zaitsev. Thesis: "The Young Guard".
Poplavsky M.K. - Member of the Union of Artists of the USSR.
Participant of art exhibitions: republican - since 1949, all-union - since 1952, foreign since 1953.
He worked in the field of easel painting.
Main works: “Oleg Koshevoi for interrogation” (1949), “Athletes of Donbas” (1957), “Lights of Donbas” (1960), “Black Gold” (1963), “Calm” (1968).
Artworks M.K. Poplavsky are represented in museum, gallery and private collections in Ukraine and abroad.
