About the artist: Painter. Honored Artist of the Ukrainian SSR.
Kolesnik Boris Afanasevich was born in 1927 in the village. Vilshany of the Kharkiv region.
In 1943-1949. studied at the Kharkov State Art School, in 1949-1955. - at the Kharkov State Art Institute with A. Kokel, P. Kotov, L. Chernov.
In 1965 he joined the Union of Artists of the Ukrainian SSR.
He is the author of genre lyrical paintings that reveal the life and traditions of the Ukrainian people.
Since 1951 he took part in all-Union, republican and international (Italy, France, Japan) exhibitions. The artist's personal exhibition took place in Kharkov in 1984.
The works of B.A. Kolesnik are kept in the Museum of Russian Art in Kiev, in art museums in Kharkov and other cities of Ukraine and the former USSR.
