About the artists: Kogan-Shats Matvey Borisovich (1911-1989) - Ukrainian painter, master of landscape painting. Was born in the city of Mogilev-Podolsk, Vinnytsia region. Graduated from OKHI (1935), where he studied under P. Volokidin, T. Fraerman and A. Shovkunenko. He graduated from the Kiev Institute of Art (1939), where he studied with A. Shovkunenko. Lived and worked in Kiev. The artist's works are kept in museums and private collections, and are in great demand on the Ukrainian art market.
