About the artist: English artist Richard Thorn was born in Devon in 1952, where he currently lives and works.
Richard Thorne is an innovative English watercolourist. With its dynamic technique and rich colors, it stands in stark contrast to most British artists who follow the traditional English watercolor style.
At the age of five, Richard Torn, during his illness, began to get involved in pencil sketches, and watercolor became a natural extension of this hobby. The work of the young artist was greatly influenced by the Impressionists, and then by the work of American watercolors such as Winslow Homer, Edward Hopper, Philip Jameson and Andrew Wyeth. Richard Thorn owes much of his striking and recognizable style to the influence of these outstanding craftsmen. The artist is renowned for his ability to beautifully convey the work of light, and his katins are highly sought after by art collectors across the country.
