According to the artist, Crimea is one of the points of the Earth closest to the Cosmos, as a center of connections and community of all things. Filov's goal is to tune in to the energy of these connections, to transform it through himself; to actively intervene in the chain of cosmic regularities in an attempt to put one's, albeit modest, contribution on the scales of creation, unification, good, by producing paintings that work in this direction. For him, a picture is a talisman, an amulet, a tool for a spell. Thinking about how to help the picture find its audience, he became one of the creators of the Crimean Society of Contemporary Art (1987). He is also an art critic and writer. Lives in Crimea.
