About the artist: Ukrainian painter.
Ivan Ivanovich Dubish was born on September 23, 1927 in the village. Lisichevo Irshava district in Transcarpathia.
Since 1944 - on the fronts of the Great Patriotic War. He participated in the liberation of Ukraine, Hungary, Slovakia.
From 1946 to 1951 he studied at the Uzhgorod College of Applied Arts, where his teachers were A. Erdeli and J. Bokshay.
After graduating from the school, I.I.Dubish ends up at the Kiev Art School named after T.G.Shevchenko, and from 1952 to 1958 he studied at the Kiev Art Institute, where his teachers were K. Trohimenko, V. Puzyrkov, M. Khmelko, G. Melikhov.
Member of the Union of Artists of Ukraine.
He worked in the field of easel painting. Master of genre paintings, landscapes and portraits. Native Carpathians is one of the main topics in the artist’s work.
Dubish I.I. - participant of art exhibitions: regional - since 1950, republican - since 1958, all-Union - since 1967.
Personal exhibition was held in Kiev in 1988.
The artist’s works are presented in Transcarpathian, Chernivtsi, Severodonetsk art museums, in Transcarpathian, Ivano-Frankivsk, Pereyaslav-Khmelnitsky local history museums, in the Kherson Historical Museum, in the Kanev Museum - the reserve of T.G.Shevchenko, in private collections in Ukraine and abroad .
