Mikhail Petrov illustrated more than 200 books, among them the works of A.S. Pushkin, M.Yu. Lermontova, A.N. Nekrasova, M.A. Sholokhov, M. Twain, A. Platonov, G.-H. Andersen, Jack London, R.L. Stevenson, D. Defoe, M. Zoshchenko, N.V. Gogol, S.V. Mikhalkov. The artist’s creativity is distinguished by a variety of intonations: from irony, and even grotesque, to subtle lyrics. The artist does not part with the album. He says so: “I try to sketch everything that I see. For example, a man carries a saw. Try to figure out how it can be. ” And he likes to work with wood, build and play the harmonica. Maybe from this great love of life comes the charm of his generous, powerful talent.
