About the artist: Soviet Ukrainian painter and graphic artist. Teacher.
Ivan Logvin was born on October 11, 1923 in the village of Korshevo (Bobrovsky district, Voronezh region, Russia).
In 1938 he entered the Penza Art School.
With the outbreak of World War II in 1941, he was mobilized into the army, where, after graduating from a military school, he was sent to the Karelian front. He went through the entire war and was demobilized in 1947. He was awarded the Order of the Red Star and medals.
In 1949 I. Logvin graduated from the Penza Art School and entered the Kharkov Art Institute, which he graduated with honors in 1955. Teachers in the specialty: V. Sizikov, L. Chernov, P. Kotov, S. Dudnik.
He worked in the field of easel painting. Master of thematic paintings, portraits, landscapes and still lifes.
Member of the Union of Artists of Ukraine.
Since 1958 he has been a participant in republican, all-Union and foreign art exhibitions.
Since 1955, I.D.Logvin has been teaching at the Odessa Art School named after M.B. Grekov, at the Odessa Pedagogical University named after K.D. Ushinsky. Among his students there are many famous artists, including Berezhnoy A.N., Ilyushin A.A., Les V.S. other.
In 1984, a personal exhibition of paintings and graphic works by Ivan Dmitrievich Logvin was held at the Odessa Art Museum.
Lived and worked in Odessa. He died in 1996.
The artist's works are presented in museum, gallery and private collections in Ukraine, USA, Great Britain, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, Japan and other countries.
