About the artist: Soviet Ukrainian painter. Member of the Union of Artists of the Ukrainian SSR. Yanchak Elena Vatslavovna was born in 1918 in the city of Stakhanov, Luhansk region. She graduated from the Odessa Art College. B.M. Grekova, and since 1938 she studied at the Leningrad Academy of Arts with B. Johanson. Since 1950, she took part in exhibitions, including foreign ones (Germany, Switzerland, Poland, Japan). She worked in a realistic manner in the genre of landscape and portraiture, wrote still lifes in the pictorial technique of impressionistic influence peculiar only to her. The artist’s works are presented in public and private collections in Ukraine and abroad, are in constant demand in the art market. Lived and worked in Odessa.
