About the artist: People's Artist of Ukraine.
Gabda Vasily Georgievich was born on July 11, 1925 in the city of Uzhgorod, Transcarpathian region.
In 1943-1944 studied at the architectural department of the Polytechnic Institute in Budapest (Hungary).
In 1945-1946 studied at the painting department in the Uzhgorod art and industrial school under I. Bokshay, A. Erdeli, F. Manailo.
Since 1946 - a participant in regional, since 1954 - republican, since 1957 - All-Union and since 1960 international exhibitions.
In the years 1947-1948 taught at the Uzhgorod art school.
Gabda Vasily Georgievich - member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine since 1958.
Personal exhibitions of the artist were held in Ukraine and Slovakia.
In 1980, the artist was awarded the title of Honored Artist of Ukraine.
In 1995, Vasily Georgievich became a laureate of the regional prize named after I. Bokshay and A. Erdeli in the field of fine art.
Since 2000 - People's Artist of Ukraine.
Works by Gabda V.G. presented in Transcarpathian, Kharkov, Simferpol art museums, in art galleries and private collections in Ukraine, Russia, Kazakhstan, Canada, Japan, Slovakia.
