About the artist: Paul Christiaan Bos was born on a sunny day on September 4, 1956 in in Heemstede (a city in the Netherlands, in the province of North Holland). In his youth, on the way to the gymnasium, Paul decided to become an artist and devote all his time to art. After leaving school, he did not attend courses at the Dutch Academy of Arts to continue his academic studies in painting, but decided to create his own academy in his parents' home. Christian Paul makes his own paints according to the recipes of the old masters, and also created many of his own recipes, not only with the goal of preserving his paintings for centuries, but mainly because he can achieve his goal - the ability to convey light, its charm on canvases.
Dozens of special-breed chickens and one rooster roam in the artist’s garden in Mûnein (province of Friesland, Netherlands) whose egg composition is optimal to get a paint composition based on a Renaissance manuscript. And every four years, the garden is filled with "tons" of linseed oil. Tempera paint requires rigorous technology and time. As a result, his paintings emit a special atmosphere. His portraits show a level of intensity. With endless patience, he paints to show the character of a person, with the same passion he paints trees, flowers, plants and animals.
