About the artist: Soviet Ukrainian painter. Gavriil Vladimirovich Sorokoletov was born on February 9, 1913 in the village of Sharapkino (now Dolzhansk, Luhansk region). He graduated from the Kiev Art Institute. Teachers by specialty - F. Krichevsky, V. Kostetskiy, S. Grigoriev, K. Trohimenko. He worked in the field of easel painting. Master of thematic paintings, portraits, landscapes and still lifes. Member of the Union of Artists of Ukraine. A participant in numerous art exhibitions, including the Exhibition of Ghosts of Ukrainian Artists held from April to June 1947 in Voroshilovgrad (Lugansk), then in Donetsk and Mariupol, the Ninth Art Exhibition opened on November 7, 1947 in Kiev, at the State Museum of Ukrainian Art and the State Museum of Russian Art, the Third Regional Art Exhibition dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the Reunification of Ukraine and Russia, which was held in Kiev in 1954 in the House of Officers of the Soviet Army and others.
