About the artist: Soviet painter, graphic artist, monumentalist. Honored Artist of Ukraine.
Brusentsov Gennady Yakovlevich was born on October 14, 1927 in the city of Orel in Russia.
In 1953 he graduated from the Leningrad Higher Art and Industrial College named after IN AND. Mukhina, where his teachers were G. Pavlovsky, P. Puko, P. Sidorov, A. Kazantsev.
After graduation, he was invited to work in Turkmenistan.
He worked in the field of painting, graphics, monumental and decorative art.
In 1954 he became a member of the Union of Artists of the Turkmen SSR.
From the same year, G.Ya. Brusentsov is a participant in republican, all-union and foreign exhibitions.
In 1968 he moved to Ukraine. He lived and worked in Sevastopol.
Since 1969 - a member of the Crimean organization of the Union of Artists of the Ukrainian SSR.
Personal exhibitions of the artist were held in museums and exhibition halls of Ashgabat (1965.1966), Kiev, Sevastopol, Yalta, Moscow and St. Petersburg.
He was awarded the Medal and two Honorary Diplomas of the Presidium of the Supreme Council of the Turkmen SSR.
Honored Artist of Ukraine since 1982.
The works of Brusentsov G.Ya. presented in the State Tretyakov Gallery, the State Russian Museum, the State Museum of Oriental Art, the art museums of Ukraine, Russia, Turkmenistan, as well as in gallery and private collections in Ukraine, Russia, Turkmenistan, Norway, Austria, the USA, Italy, Japan, Germany , France, Greece, Turkey.
