About the artist: Pyotr Alekseevich Alekseev (01/11/1884 - 10/03/1938) - painter.
Was born in St. Petersburg.
In 1903 he graduated from the School of Industrial Art (formerly Baron Stieglitz), in 1914 - from the Academy of Arts in St. Petersburg.
Participant of exhibitions: St. Petersburg (1908-1914), the Yaroslavl Society of Fine Arts Workers (1928-1929), regional (Yaroslavl, Ivanovo, 1933-1937).
Member of the Yaroslavl branch of the Union of Soviet Artists (1934).
In Yaroslavl, he held the position of quality inspector at the "Artist" partnership.
Expelled from the Yaroslavl regional agricultural union as an "enemy of the people" (08/03/1937). Accusatory Articles: 58-7, 58-8, 58-11.
On August 26, 1937 he was arrested under the so-called. "The Artists' Case".
Sentenced to be shot on August 26, 1937, the sentence was carried out on October 3, 1938.
Buried near the village of Selifontovo, Yaroslavl region. Rehabilitated on June 8, 1957
