About the artist: Andrei is one of the brightest representatives of the Ruthenian art school.
Born in 1911 in Uzhgorod in a working class family. Young attended a Sunday school of drawing in Uzhgorod, where the teachers were A. Erdeli and J. Bokshay. In 1933, A. became a member of the Society of Figures in the Subcarpathian Rus. All this time, the artist does not cease to work creatively. In 1933, A. Kotsk organized his first personal exhibition in Uzhgorod. Great success came to A. Kock in 1939. after the All-Hungarian exhibition he will depict the art of arts, to which he submitted eight paintings. The positive reviews of critics and such well-known artists as I. Seni and A. Bankgart helped to get a scholarship to study at the Roman Academy of Fine Arts, where A. A. Kotsk in 1940 - 1942. studied under the supervision of Professor F. Ferrazzi.
After returning from Italy, A. Kotsk again works and lives in Subcarpathian Rus during 1942-1944. In 1945-1946 in Uzhgorod, Kiev and Moscow, exhibitions of works by Transcarpathian artists are held, at which the works of A. Kotsky are widely represented.
The singer of the beauty of women in Transcarpathia - A. Kotsk was awarded high government awards. In 1971 he was awarded the title of Honored Art Worker of the Ukrainian SSR, in 1981 - People's Artist of the Ukrainian SSR, in 1977 the artist became a member of the Presidium of the Artists of the Ukrainian SSR and a member of the board of the Union of Artists of the USSR. Until the end of his life, A. was an active participant in exhibitions. 1981 - personal exhibition in Uzhgorod, 1983 - Moscow, 1984 - Trebisov (Czechoslovakia).
The artist’s style is original and recognizable, his works are distinguished by a bright, unique color.
A wonderful artist died on November 4, 1987 in Uzhgorod.
