About the artist: Ukrainian painter, monumentalist, graphic artist. Sergey Danilovich Dumenko was born on December 17, 1909. From 1932 to 1938 he studied at the Odessa Art College under A. Shovkunenko and L. Muchnik. Member of the Great Patriotic War, awarded military awards. Lived and worked in Odessa. Member of the Union of Artists of the USSR. The unsurpassed master of portraiture. Since 1937, participates in city, republican and all-union art exhibitions. In August 1951, a painting by S. Dumenko participates in the Exhibition of Works of Soviet Fine Arts in Berlin (Germany). The artist died on October 9, 1992. Works S.D. Dumenko are represented in museum and private collections in Ukraine and abroad.
