About the Artist

Stepan Kalinovich Yarovoy, a distinguished Ukrainian painter, was born on October 19, 1913, in the village of Barvinkovo, Kharkiv region. In 1936, he relocated to Crimea, where his artistic journey truly began. Yarovoy's talent flourished when he joined the art studio of the Yalta House of Folk Art in 1939.

During the Great Patriotic War, Yarovoy served his country and received military awards for his bravery. After the war, he continued his artistic pursuits by studying at the Moscow Central Art Studio "Vsekohudozhnika" under the guidance of his teacher, B. Johanson.

Yarovoy's expertise lay in easel painting, with a focus on landscapes and marine scenes. He became a member of the Crimean organization of the Union of Artists of the USSR in 1958.

The artist's works were exhibited at regional, republican, and all-Union exhibitions, as well as international exhibitions in Hungary, Japan, and France. He held personal exhibitions in Yalta, Simferopol, Sevastopol, and Yalta.

Yarovoy Stepan Kalinovich passed away on July 3, 1988, in Yalta. His artistic legacy lives on in museums across Ukraine and in private collections worldwide, including Russia, Poland, France, Germany, Japan, Finland, and Canada.
