About the artist: Trokhimenko Karpo Demyanovych (1885-1979) - Ukrainian painter, genre painter, landscape painter. He was born in the village of Sushchany, Kyiv region. He studied at KHI (1902-1910) with I. Seleznyov, at MUZhSA (1906-1907) with M. Kasatkin, at the St. Petersburg Academy of Arts named after М.Самокиша. An outstanding artist and teacher. He taught at KHI (1933-1974). Professor (1939). People's Artist of the USSR (1944). Laureate of the State Prize of Ukraine named after Т.Шевченка. He lived and worked in Kyiv.
