Grigory Vasilyevich Bonya was born on April 1, 1918 in the village of Gradizhsk, Poltava region.
From 1936 to 1939 he studied at the Kharkov Art College with S.F. Besedin.
In 1939 he entered the Kiev Art Institute, but the war interrupted his studies.
Bonya G.V. - Member of the Great Patriotic War, awarded military awards.
After the war, the artist returns to study and work.
Since 1949 - a participant in regional, republican and all-Union art exhibitions.
Member of the Union of Artists of the USSR.
In 1950 he graduated from the Kiev Art Institute, where his teachers were A. Shovkunenko, V. Kostetsky, M. Sharonov, T. Yablonskaya.
In 1978, Bon Gregory Vasilyevich was awarded the title - "Honored Artist of the Ukrainian SSR".
Personal exhibitions were held in Kiev in 1980 and in Krasnoyarsk in 1981.
He worked in the field of easel, monumental painting and graphics. The author of thematic paintings, landscapes and portraits.
The artist’s works are stored in the National Museum. A. Sheptytsky in Lviv, at the Dnepropetrovsk Art Museum, in galleries and private collections in Ukraine and beyond.
