About the artist: Born on February 1, 1936, in the village of Bolshoy Bakai, Reshetilovsky district, Poltava region. Graduated from the Kharkov Institute of Culture (1958). Artist of decorative and applied arts. He developed patterns for embroidery (schemes of icons, portraits of famous people of Ukraine, ornament, font and thematic compositions in the cross-stitch technique), published in the magazines: "Woman", "Ukraine". Honored Master of Folk Art (2006). Received the Panas Mirny regional prize (2007). He worked as director of the district house of culture, teacher of the year, senior educator of a boarding school in the town of Snyatin, Stanislavskaya region (now Ivano-Frankivsk region); teacher of the Snyatinsky School of Culture (later transferred to the city of Kalush, Ivano-Frankivsk region; 1966); teacher of arts and crafts at the Gadyatsky College of Culture (Poltava region; 1977). Major works: designed the Gadyatsky Literary Museum of the Drahomanov family (1991). Author of the albums “Ukrainian embroidery. Ornaments, fonts, thematic compositions ”(2005, issue 1),“ Ukrainian embroidery. Portraits of outstanding people of Poltava region ”(2007, issue 2),“ Ukrainian embroidery. Icons, religious compositions ”(2008, issue 3),“ Ukrainian embroidery. Portraits of Taras Shevchenko ”(2013, issue 4). Lived and worked in Poltava.
