About the artist: He studied at the Moscow State Institute of Art. IN AND. Surikov (1945-1951) under the leadership of V.V. Pochitalova, S.V. Gerasimova, together with V.E. Popkov, V.F. Stozharov, V.I. Ivanov, A.A. Tutunov, I. Shevandronova, N.I. Andronov and others. Traveled in the North, under the impression of the trip created many landscapes of northern nature. In 1985 he worked on murals for the Reception House. In the mid-1970s. headed the Moscow Union of Artists. An outstanding master of urban landscape, he created many subtle, lyrical views of Moscow. The artist's personal exhibition was held in 1989 in Moscow. The works of I.A. Popov are in the State Tretyakov Gallery, the State Russian Museum, in the Kiev Museum of Russian Art, in large regional museums, in private collections in Russia and abroad.
