About the artist: Ukrainian painter.
Vladimir Kalistratovich Samokhin was born on February 27, 1938 in the city of Kansk (Krasnoyarsk Territory, Russia) in the family of a military man.
In 1957 he graduated from the Moscow Art High School with a gold medal.
In 1965 he graduated from the Kiev State Art Institute, diploma work "Portrait of General Designer OK Antonov".
Teachers - Shtilman I.N., Chichkan L.I., Trokhimenko K.D., Vyrodova-Gauthier V.T., Zabashta V.I.
Since 1966 V.K. Samokhin works as a teacher at the State Art School named after T.G. Shevchenko, has brought up a galaxy of young Ukrainian artists.
Since 1974 - a member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine.
He works in the traditional realistic manner inherent in the Ukrainian academic school of painting, in the genres of subject painting, portrait and landscape using oil and pastel techniques. The artist's works are characterized by subtle color, lyricism, spirituality, thoughtful composition and virtuoso skill.
Participant of more than 40 city, republican, all-Union and foreign art exhibitions.
Personal exhibitions of the artist were held in 2004 in the Central House of Artists (Kiev) and in 2013 in the gallery of the Kiev organization of the National Union of Artists "Mitets".
For many years of work, Vladimir Kalistratovich Samokhin was awarded the medal "For Labor Distinction", a diploma of the Ministry of Culture of the USSR (1972), and a commendation from the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Ukraine (1998).
The painter's works are presented in art museums in Ukraine, in gallery and private collections in Ukraine, Germany, France, Italy, Israel, Greece.
