About the artist: Born on March 22, 1890, in the village of Kalavtsy (now Chernihiv region). Graduated from the Kiev Art School (1915) and the Kiev Art Institute (1927). Teachers by profession - I. Ezhakevich, V. Menk, O. Murashko, B. Yoganson, T. Dyadchenko, I. Makushenko, F. Krichevsky, V. Belyaev, O. Makovsky. He worked in the field of easel painting and book graphics. Awarded with the Certificate of Honor of the Presidium of the Verkhovna Rada of the Ukrainian SSR (1968). Participated in exhibitions (from 1911), republican exhibitions (1927), all-Union (from 1946). Personal exhibitions - Kiev (1955, 1966), Vologda (1957). Major works: illustrations for the works of I. Kotlyarevsky (1939 - 1940), K., 1950; T. Shevchenko, K., 1950; paintings "Catherine" (1944); “Messengers of Bogdan Khmelnitsky” (all co-authored by I. Yezhakevich); series of landscapes "Kiev" (1908 - 1969) and others. Lived and worked in the city of Kiev. He died on March 20, 1984.
