About the artist: Ukrainian graphic artist and painter. Ruslan Nikolaevich Saenko was born on February 23, 1933 in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. In 1951 he entered the Leningrad Art and Graphic Pedagogical School, where he studied under A. Mordvinov, G. Orlovsky, E. Antipova, L. Orekhov, V. Teterin, who were students of K. Petrov-Vodkin, P. Bilonov, O. Osmerkin. After graduating from college, he entered the graphic department of the Kiev Art Institute, which he graduated in 1966. Teachers in the specialty were: V. Kasiyan, A. Danchenko, G. Yakutovich, G. Gavrilenko .. Since 1962, R. N. Saenko participated in republican, all-Union and foreign art exhibitions. Since 1980 - a member of the Union of Artists of the USSR. He worked in the field of graphics (etching), arts and crafts (art textiles, tapestry), painting. Guided by the laws of free improvisation, the artist continues the traditions of constructivism and the Soviet avant-garde. Solo exhibitions of R. Saenko were held in Kiev, Moscow, Makhachkala, Tyumen, Novy Urengoy, Brussels (1993), Hanoi (1985), Paris (2005). The artist’s works are presented in museum, gallery and private collections in Ukraine, Russia, France, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, China, Korea, Vietnam, Hong Kong, England, Luxembourg, the USA, Austria, Germany, Latvia, and Spain.
