About the artists: Sorokin Nikolay Vasilievich. Soviet Ukrainian painter. Member of the Union of Artists of the Ukrainian SSR. Born in the village. Sergeevka, Shirokovsky district, Dnepropetrovsk region. (Ukraine) January 1, 1939. He graduated from the Simferopol Art School in 1969. In 1970 he entered the State Academic Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture named after I.E. Repin in Leningrad. Later - the All-Russian Academy of Arts. Graduated in 1976 with a degree in easel painting. Since 1982, member of the Union of Artists of the USSR. Thesis in the CVC - “On the Elbe”, grade - good. The training took place at the Faculty of Painting, and he was awarded the qualification of an artist-painter and teacher. Author of many plot-thematic works dedicated to the events of the Great October Socialist Revolution and the Great Patriotic War. He painted landscapes, still lifes and portraits of prominent figures of the USSR. Participant of city, regional and republican exhibitions of fine arts. The works are in many public and private collections in Ukraine and abroad. Died in 2004 in Krivoy Rog (Ukraine).
