The painting titled "The Road to the Village" is a serene and nostalgic depiction of rural life, created with oil on canvas. This artwork captures the essence of simplicity and harmony between human life and nature, inviting the viewer to step into a tranquil countryside setting. At the center of the composition is a winding dirt road that stretches gently upward, leading the eye toward the distant houses that mark the entrance to a quiet village. The road, painted in soft earthy tones, is flanked by lush greenery, with vibrant shades of green dominating the landscape. The uneven texture of the brushstrokes used for the road gives it a sense of realism, evoking the feeling of walking along its path.On either side of the road, the landscape is framed by tall trees and wild vegetation. The left side features a rustic wooden fence, its weathered texture adding a sense of age and character to the scene. The right side is dense with trees, their deep green leaves contrasting with the lighter tones of the grass below. This natural framing enhances the perspective, guiding the viewer’s gaze toward the horizon. In the distance, the small, humble houses of the village can be seen, partially obscured by more trees. Their presence adds a sense of life and connection to the otherwise peaceful landscape, suggesting a community nestled within nature. The sky above is painted in soft hues of blue and white, with subtle cloud formations creating a calm and inviting atmosphere.Through "The Road to the Village," the artist seeks to convey a sense of peace and belonging. The painting captures the timeless charm of rural life, emphasizing the simplicity and beauty of living in harmony with nature. The winding road symbolizes a journey—perhaps one of self-discovery or a return to one’s roots. It invites the viewer to reflect on the importance of connection to the land and the comfort of home. This work resonates with those who long for the tranquility of nature and the simplicity of village life. The artist’s use of warm, natural colors and detailed textures creates a vivid and immersive scene, evoking feelings of nostalgia and serenity. Ultimately, the painting serves as a gentle reminder to appreciate the quiet beauty of the world around us.

About the artists: Oleksiyander Gukalov
After graduating from Lviv Polytechnic, he was engaged in scientific work. In his free time, he studied the works of Plato, the poetry of the ancient East, and religious works. At this time, resistance to the routine of life and utilitarian science arose in him; he became interested in man and his secrets. Oleksiyander decided to end his engineering career and become a humanitarian. Since 1990, he began to write and publish philosophical poems. Later he decided to devote himself to painting, a passion for which began during his years of study at the Lviv Polytechnic with caricatures and caricatures of classmates and teachers.

Since 2017 he has been painting with oil paints. Oleksiyander does not have a formal art education, but he is convinced that the craft and talent of an artist do not directly depend on professional education. The artist's works are characterized by completeness of composition and depth of meaning. He is not afraid to work with different themes, his paintings are true modern art that touches people. The artist’s portfolio includes landscapes and views of his favorite cities, portraits of pop stars, politicians, athletes, relatives, and animals. “I draw a toga when I feel the need for it. Therefore, I cannot say that I work in some narrow direction. Rather, it is a call from the soul,” the artist says about himself.
