Born April 20, 1924 in the city of Katerinoslav, now Dnepropetrovsk. He happened to survive the Great Patriotic War. In 1946 he entered the Dnepropetrovsk Art College. After - at the Kiev Art Institute, which he graduated with honors, his teachers were KD Trokhimenko and I. Shtilman
In 1955, George Chernyavsky returned to his hometown. Just a couple of years later, Chernyavsky was appointed head of the Dnepropetrovsk organization of the Union of Artists of Ukraine, where he worked until 1974.
The master was mainly engaged in landscapes and rarely turned to other genres. In the 50-60s, the main place in his works began to take the beauties of his native Ukrainian region.
In his paintings, he emphasizes the originality and originality of K. Marx Avenue. In the fabulous snowy beauty I saw the street to them. T. G. Shevchenko. He was able to describe the tenderness of the lilac haze over barely plowed land. The artist painted Ukraine in ripe gold and gold, and in autumn fading.
A series of landscapes of snowy Transcarpathia fascinates with its strange beauty, pronounced Ukrainian flavor. The grandeur of the architecture of Moscow and St. Petersburg, the ancient narrow streets of Krakow amaze with the expressiveness of images and carry cognitive value.
Creative friendship and joint trips to sketches with his friend Ukrainian artist Vladimir Aleksandrovich Zhugan had a beneficial effect on the work of both artists. The painting "Spring", (presented on the site) is a joint work of two great artists
In 1974, the artist moved to Kiev. There he works as a teacher at the Art Institute, as well as deputy chairman of the Union of Artists of the Ukrainian SSR.
Here George Chernyavsky begins to master the technique of watercolor. And, despite the enormous employment, almost every year he is part of the All-Union creative group of watercolorists.
Back in the Soviet era, the artist’s talent did not go unnoticed. He was awarded the State Prize. T. G. Shevchenko, awarded the Order of Lenin, and also awarded the title of People's Artist of the USSR.
Georgy Georgievich loved to travel and brought unique landscapes from everywhere. So among his works there is an image of cold Kamchatka, sunny Nurek, where a hydroelectric power station, blue night Murmansk, Komi and Novaya Zemlya were built.
Returning from the next creative wanderings, the artist happily met with schoolchildren, students, miners, builders. He told them about the region where he had been. Described in detail the nature, events, life of people. George Chernyavsky dreamed of writing a book of his memoirs, but, unfortunately, did not manage to do this.
