Petr Dmitrievich Volsky: A Remarkable Journey

Born on May 18, 1925, in the city of Chimkent, which is now part of Kazakhstan, Petr Dmitrievich Volsky's journey in the world of art began with dedication and purpose. He pursued his studies at the Riga Academy of Arts from 1950 to 1956, where he received guidance from prominent teachers in the field, including J. Tilberg and E. Skulme.

Volsky was not only a gifted painter but also a director. His contributions to the world of easel painting are marked by a focus on portraits and thematic works. His artistic prowess was recognized when he became a member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine in 1960.

Volsky was also a decorated war veteran, having participated in the Great Patriotic War. His service to his country was acknowledged with various medals. Later in his career, he assumed the role of the Chief Artist at the Zaporizhzhya Music and Drama Theater, which is now named after V. Magar, beginning in 1970.
