About the artist: Born on February 2 (January 20?) 1914 in Simferopol. He studied at the studio of N. Samokish in Simferopol (1922-1931), at the All-Russian Academy of Arts in Leningrad (1931 - 1937). Teachers by specialty - M. Samokish, V. Shukhaev, I. Brodsky. He worked in the industry of easel graphics and painting, mainly in the genre of landscape, in particular the sea. Member of the NSHU (1958). Honored Artist of the USSR (1978). Laureate of the State Prize of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea (1997). People's Artist of Ukraine (2004) Member of the CPSU. Member of the Great Patriotic War. Awarded a medal. Participated in exhibitions: republican since 1949, all-union since 1955, personal - Kiev, 1955, 1956; Leningrad, 1960, 1963, 1964; Yalta, 1954, 1961, 1963; Simferopol, 1961, 1964.
