About the artist: Shostak David Zelmanovich 1923-2010 Ukrainian painter. Honored Artist of the Ukrainian SSR. David Zelmanovich Shostak was born on July 6, 1923 in Kyiv. In 1952 he graduated from the Kyiv State Art Institute. Teachers - A. Shovkunenko, G. Melikhov, T. Yablonskaya, V. Kostetsky, V. Puzyrkov. Member of the Union of Artists of the Ukrainian SSR. He worked in the field of easel painting. Master of thematic paintings, portraits, landscapes and still lifes. Since 1951 he has been a participant of city, republican, all-Union and foreign art exhibitions.
